ALERT-Beware of New Names

September 18th 2010 22:39
High Fructose Corn Syrup wants to improve its image by confusing the consumer as to whether a product contains HFCS. HFCS has been slammed by so many health professionals that it wants to change its name. The only reason it is doing this is so the consumer no longer sees HFCS in the ingredients.

The name the corn refiners industry seeks is corn sugar. They want this change to ease the confusion about the sweetener. Instead it looks like a way to hide the product from the consumer.

You can label pickles 'apples', but they're still pickles. This obvious leopard move wears the same spots!
