Brain News You Can Use!

November 19th 2008 23:57
Perhaps we will never truly understand the brain and how it works. How it remembers, learns, perceives, etc., and is the main processor for our survival. Computers may be great but it took a human brain to create them!

In the continuing research of alzheimer's and dementia, it has been determined that ginko biloba is ineffective against dementia and alzheimer's. My personal opinion is that it may be better than nothing. Sure, it doesn't prevent or delay the conditions, but it might help you 'strengthen' your brain by doing memory exercises.

One should aspire to protect the brain at all costs. I swear, if I didn't look dumb, I would wear a football helmet when I drive. If you bike, skateboard, or engage in any high-risk activity, always wear proper gear...especially head gear!

The Glutamate Storm can be caused by a stroke or head injury. Both may be preventable!

In a previous entry to this blog, I found myself shocked to read that aspirin is good for the brain. Later I thought to myself, "Why am I shocked?" Aspirin increases blood flow to the body and the brain. That is pretty much what ginko biloba does. How do I know? Before surgery I was told to stop taking aspirin and ginko at least a week before surgery because they increase bleeding during surgery. Learn more pro and cons of aspirin. I have been told by my doctor and cardiologist to take a daily aspirin, but I don't take it religiously every day.

This site has some great informative links like the one about brain foods.

In conclusion Here's 120 ways to boost yor brain.

You write some good articles, but I can't agree with you about ginko, don't take it and do follow your doctor's advice regularly, upping and downing can be harmful.

Keep up the good work, I liked your post on sarcasm too, I saw this on the tele, very interesting.

I meant to go there, but with everything so condensedI I missed it. I shall return, in due course.

well done.

Thanks katyzzz.

The importance is blood flow, especially to the brain. Mark my words...Niacin(B3) will eventually become once again a miracle vitamin!
