Colon Cleansing: Let The Buyer Beware

June 15th 2008 22:29
I have a friend who is really into all this holistic healing magical formula for what ails you. Prostate cancer runs in his family, so rather than going through the embarrassing method of checking it, he finds holistic gurus that have an answer for what ails you without checking what needs to be checked. Call me crazy, but this sounds like a disasterous situation waiting to happen.

Over the years, I have known people that have good health insurance but refuse to see a doctor on a regular basis. They rely on the Emergency Room if a problem gets out of hand. Unfortunately, this isn't as rare as we would like it to be. It is very common! People hate or fear conventional doctors and some are outright cynical towards them. So they seek the less intrusive variety, and at times are prone to self-diagnosis. An acquaintance claimed he had arthritis, but found out too late it was a full-blown cancer that had spread throughout his body.

If one mentions a colonoscopy people cringe and would rather die than have one done. Look at all the colon cleansing formulas that are on the market. My holistic friend believes the formulas along with beans and soy will keep the colon cleansing. I hope he is right on both the colon and prostate. His 'healers' are expensive but he claims they have helped him immensly.

I had cancer and overcame it by going to a doctor who specialized in my ailment. Had I seen a holostic healer, I'd probably be dead! I felt good and had no pain, but I didn't rationalize and put it off when I saw symptoms. I didn't justify it by self-diagnosing myself.

Always consult a medical professional and make sure that you have a family doctor that has your medical history. Not trusting doctors may be fatal to your health. Most holistic options may work as a preventative but not a cure.

Most people believe that colon cleansing is a 'healthy' bowel movement. It's not. A colon cleansing involves an enema or a fast from solid foods. If you can get a Rx for Colyte, it will really cleanse the colon since it is for pre-colonoscopy use. Cleansing involves liquid rather than solid waste.

For a colon fast eat only Jello and broth. Drink water or liquids. Avoid solid foods(even the ones that are good for you) during the fast. Do a 24 hour fast. The bowl movement should be an egg colored liquid. This is a true 'colon cleansing' but is no guarantee to curing or preventing cancer or other ailments. Something that runs in your family may be unavoidable.

I also recently came across an article about how to "detox" with natural food (vege, fruits, etc)... I'll post it at my site later.

Interesting post you have got there, and am glad that you have survived the cancer.

My mother had something pretty bad, it is called Steven Johnson Syndrome, a medical allergy which many patients didn't manage to survive if it is too serious.

Do check it out

Have a blessed day
