The High Cost of Free Health Care

I once got a taste of a European's country free health care in the late 70s. It wasn't too pleasant. I spent a week in the hospital for daily tests that could have been done in less than an hour in my current doctor's office in the States. This didn't happen once, but twice. Times have changed since then, and they seem to have gotten worse.
Today free government-run health care isn't as helpful as people think it is. In Canada and England people may not get needed treatments in time. Sure it's free, but the wait can be from days to months. Makes emergency room waiting in the US seem very tolerable!
On the good side, a pet in Canada can get a CT scan in a day, while a person has to wait a month. Makes one wonder if we are really in as bad a shape as most think. Sometimes you don't know how good you have it until it's gone. The poor in the US get free taxpayer health care known as Medicaid. They get much better care than what would happen if all health care was government-run!
