If you are a woman, my guess is you've already asked your boyfriend/husband this many times. Notice how he automatically says "No" without even looking? It's because we're looking for reassurance and the biggest mistake a guy can make is to LOOK before he responds. If he has to look, there's some question that you do, indeed, look fat.
Poor guys, we do this to them all the time. I'm guilty of asking Matt this every time I put on an outfit. You would think I want the truth - well, I do, but the truth should be that I don't look fat, no matter what. I'll admit I couldn't really handle it if he said "Yes, you do look fat, a little bit."
When will we stop doing this? When will we let the guys off the hook?
Of course it's different for them. I have never once had Matt ask ME if he looks fat. It would be ridiculous, right? Guys just don't worry about that sort of thing. Lucky them!
Next time you're about to ask a guy this, stop and think: Do you really want the truth? Or are you just looking for a certain answer?
