Liver Health
October 11th 2009 17:32
Have you ever wondered what you would do without the Internet? When you reach my age there comes a time when you see friends die from diseases that may be deemed incurable. We all hate to be diagnosed with the "C" word. Cancer is like a death sentence to most. To others it is a challenge.
Years ago any cancer was sure death. Today we can identify most cancers and if diagnosed early, they can be beat. I beat mine.
I also had friends and acquaintances die of cancer. Lung, pancreatic, liver, etc., there seems to be a cancer for every cell in the human body. Recently pancreatic cancer killed a friend's father. Liver cancer seems to have hit a co-worker and he doesn't look good. My point to this entry is that when things happen like this, I tend to research treatments and what may have caused the cancer.
First and foremost is that you must have a doctor who has a history of your health issues. My co-worker was in his 60s and didn't trust doctors. He never had a colonoscopy. He use to boast about it. He was a heavy drinker. Didn't smoke.
Just a bit of advice: Never live in denial when it comes to health. It's the only real thing you got! You and only you really knows what ails you.
In an episode of Dr. Oz, from my TV Doctors entry, he mentions that kale is good for the liver. So I looked for foods that bid=11" target="_blank">can improve liver health.
(Link isn't working. Go to worldshealthiestfoods.net and search for foods that improve liver health)
More info can be found here, here, here, here, and I could go on...but I'm sure you get it.
Keep your organs healthy before it is too late!
