Product Review - Pepsi Jazz Caramel Creme
March 12th 2007 21:33
So it looks like Diet Pepsi has come out with a new flavor in its Jazz line - Caramel Creme. I was excited to try it because I love caramel and I expected it to taste a bit like cream soda (although cola flavored). Yes, it has aspartame, but I was willing to drink it anyway - I have a bit of a sweet tooth!
The Taste
The first taste I got in my mouth was a Pepsi taste, followed by a muted version of their Strawberries and Cream. Maybe I was just tasting the cream and not the strawberries? I didn't notice the caramel until I got to the aftertaste, and I still have to really concentrate to believe I'm tasting caramel. It didn't taste like much of a "treat." However, I disagree with some people who say it tastes like Diet Vanilla Pepsi (which I believe has been discontinued to make room for this one - a disappointment to me). It's definitely a different sort of soda. I bought a twelve-pack, but I don't plan to repurchase it, due to it not living up to my (high) expectations.
The Nutrition
Same normal list of ingredients that you would find for a cola. I think it's sweetened with Ace-K as well as aspartame, but the aspartame is definitely in there. Zero calories.
So I guess it's up to you whether you pick this up. It can be found at Wal-mart and some grocery stores (I've only seen it at Wal-mart here locally in TN).
