Point and Counter-point

I was going to write about the longevity findings in regards calorie restriction, but it looks like I avoided the topic. Good!
The study found that restricting calories in rhesus monkeys led to a longer life than those who took in 20% more calories than normal calories. I remember reading about how the calorie restriction must be done gradually and you had to make sure you didn't go too far below the norm, or there could be problems. That is probably why I chose not to write about it here.
Here's a calorie calculator if you ever need it. Apparently the magic number is that you should never go below 1200 calories a day.
In life things are never one-sided. A rainy wet Northeast may be viewed differently from a drought-stricken South. Global warming in the South may be viewed as an Ice Age in the North. I'm just saying that one person's views may be different from another's. My personal view was that even though the study pointed to calorie restriction and longevity, it came with restrictions that put a sour taste in my mouth.
All types of science are based on hypothesis that can be proven wrong. On the restricting calorie theory, I will agree with the counter-point of Junkfood Science. You, on the other hand, may agree with the other. Either way, I like when there is two sides to every argument!
