Sprouts:The Good The Bad
August 15th 2009 15:32
Alfalfa sprouts are high in vitamins and minerals, and almost seem like a dream come true to any health conscious individual. Unfortunately sprouts hold a dark side they makes them a bit risky. Since nothing is 100% it goes without saying that you consume at your own risk.
Since sprouts are the offshoots of the seeds, they easily attract pathogens such as E. coli, Lysteria, and salmonella. I'm personally going to stay away until a sure fire way to highly reduce, or eliminate, the risk for pathogens is created.
