The Downfall of Human Health

March 22nd 2010 17:59
We should always trust our personal doctors to know what is best for us. We should put our health in their hands because after all, doctors know best. My yearly physical has turned up some things that I will be discussing in the future. I am also beginning to see why many people have a mistrust of doctors when it comes to their personal health.

I have to wonder if having good health insurance is all it's cracked up to be. After all it is possible that doctors see dollar signs($) more than the needs of the patient. You would think that with my healthier lifestyle it would make my doctor take me off my medications. Instead new things are beginning to surface.

Drug manufacturers use doctors to promote their products and people may be suffering because of it. Read this to know where I'm coming from. Since my yearly physical has lead to new findings about my health, doctors, and what happens when you do have insurance, I will be talking about and spreading knowledge about the true health care profession.

In the coming blogs, besides my health fanatic entries, will be my personal journey into a troubling diagnosis that may serve to enlighten the future generation of health fanatics. If it doesn't make sense to you now, it will.

Doctors do do wonderful things, but there is still a lot they don't know, sadly, and not all doctors are created equally.

Fortunately I have the knowledge and ability to question it does not make me popular and at the end of the day we are very dependent on them.

There are a couple reasons I don't trust doctors, both of them related to how my father's cancer was treated. The doctors didn't treat it as quickly or as well as they should've, largely because my dad was severely overweight. I always knew they treated him differently than they would have others, but didn't know why exactly until talking with my grandmother much later.

The other reason is that they didn't tell me that he was dying until the month before he died, even though it was diagnosed terminal a year before that. Daddy wanted them to tell me because he couldn't, but they refused, saying I was 'too young'.

This just gives me another reason.
